August 28 and 29 sees the Notting Hill Carnival on the streets of London. The Carnival itself is on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29 when one million revelllers enjoy 20 miles of colourful costumes, music and Caribbean food stalls.

Don't miss the Mayor's Thames Festival. on September 10 and 11. There will be music, food, illuminated floats and fireworks by the Thames and it is free.

Calling all film buffs, the London Film Festival is on from October 12-27.
Diwali, the Festival of Lights on October 26 is not to be missed. Trafalgar Sqaure sees 'Diwali on the Square' with light displays, floating lanterns, music, dance and storytellling.
Ghosts and Ghouls will enjoy Halloween on October 31, with special events being held at venues across the capital.
