advertising their spare room(s) on our site. We decided to set up Head2Pillow.com to provide value for money accommodation in this time of economic uncertainty. Although Head2Pillow only provides accommodation in the London area at the moment, we plan to extend our services to

Why use Head2Pillow to find a room?
With rooms from only £30 a night in Greater London, why not save yourself money and book a room through us today? Head2Pillow has a constantly growing selection of clean and comfortable rooms available now on our user-friendly site. Also, there is no minimum stay required.
How do I join?
Registering couldn’t be simpler with our user-friendly website - just go to the Register page and select Register as a Guest. You don’t need to register until you want to book a room.
Is there a registration / joining fee?
No, there is no fee for registering or using Head2Pillow.com as a Guest.
Is there a subscription fee?
No, Head2Pillow is free to use for Guests.
How do I search for a room?
From the homepage enter any specific search criteria into the Find a room section.
If you need to search using additional criteria why not try our innovative venue search option which can be found on the Advanced Search page. This enables you to search for accommodation near a particular venue, such as the O2 Arena.
Why can’t I find a room in the town where I want to stay?
Sometimes you may find that a town you have chosen does not have any rooms as yet, but Homeowners are adding rooms all the time, so please visit us again soon.
What is included in the service we offer you?
You can search by venue, town or postcode, book and pay online in easy-to-follow steps with our user-friendly website, which is free to use.
Why does my search for SW4 also show rooms in SW12?
Our searches are based on finding rooms within a specific mileage radius; which could therefore mean that rooms are found in neighbouring postcodes. However, any rooms displayed in the search results should be within a few miles of the original postcode you entered.
 
 
Booking a Room
 
Do I need to register?
Yes, but only when you decide to book a room. Registering couldn’t be simpler with our user-friendly website - just go to the Register page and select the Register as a Guest link.
Do I have to stay a minimum number of nights?
Whether you are looking to stay one night or five nights, there is no minimum stay required, so the choice is yours.
How much will it cost me?
Guests can use Head2Pillow for free as there are no sign-up fees and no booking fees. Why not give it a try now and save yourself some money?
Do I have to pay a deposit?
No, full payment is taken at the time of booking.
How do I book a room?
Once you have registered as a Guest, then find the room of your choice, go to the detailed view of the room and click on the Book a Room link found in the top right hand corner of the screen. Select the dates of your stay then proceed to the payment section.
How do I pay for a room?
Once you select ‘Book a Room’ and have entered your required dates, you will automatically be directed to Barclaycard secure payment page, where you then make full payment by credit or debit card. Once your payment has been successfully processed, you will receive an email from Head2Pillow confirming your booking details in full.
How do I contact the Homeowner?
At Head2Pillow you can use our quick and easy to use message option to ask the Homeowner any questions you may have regarding your booking.
Can I cancel my room booking?
We hope that you won’t need to cancel your booking, but in the unlikely event of you needing to cancel, please go to the My Bookings section in My Account from where you can make a cancellation. The Head2Pillow cancellation policy is as follows:

• If a Guest cancels more than 7 days before the date of their stay, then they will receive a refund of 70%.
• If Guest cancels between 7 and 4 days before the date of their stay, then they will receive a refund of 30%.
• If Guest cancels 72 hours or less before the date of their stay, then they will not receive a refund.
What if I do not like the room when I arrive?
In the first instance, please speak to the Homeowner who we hope will be able to help you. If you decide that you are not able to stay in the room, please notify Head2Pillow immediately via email and we will refund your payment in full.
What if I have a complaint during my stay?
Please speak to the Homeowner who will be pleased to help you. After all, it is in their interests to assist; they hope that you will pass on good comments about your stay and encourage others to visit.
What if I have a complaint after my stay?
We ask all our Guests to review the room within the first 24 hours after their stay, as this will help staff at Head2Pillow monitor the quality of rooms on our website. If a Homeowner is found to be consistently providing sub-standard rooms, then Head2Pillow reserves the right to cancel their account with us.
How do I review a room I have stayed at
Please Login and proceed to the ‘My Account’ section and then on to the My Bookings tab, then simply click on the correct booking and select Add a review.

Why can’t I login?
Please check that you are using the correct user name and password.
What happens if I forget my password?
Just click on the Forgotten your password link on the Login page and Head2Pillow will send you a new password.
I have made a booking but not received confirmation by email?
In this instance, please go to the Contact Us menu option and complete the feedback form. We will then investigate this on your behalf.
 
 
For Homeowners
 
Why register your room with Head2Pillow as a Homeowner?
Head2Pillow allows you to rent out your spare room(s) whenever it suits you. The flexibility that advertising with Head2Pillow offers makes it a stress-free way to earn some tax-free money.
Do I have to be a homeowner?
Yes, it is Head2Pillow’s policy is that you have to be a homeowner to advertise a room with us.
How do I add a room?
You need to register with Head2Pillow.com before you can add a room. The ‘Register here’ button can be found in the top right hand corner of the homepage. Once you have registered, simply click on the ‘Add a Room’ tab and follow the easy to use steps that will guide you through to advertising your room with Head2Pillow.com.
How do I set the room availability?
Please go to Add a Room and follow the steps to add this information in the Availability section. Alternatively, if you wish to complete this information at a later stage, go to My Rooms and select Edit Availability.
Adding photos to your advert:
This can be done as part of the Add a Room process. Alternatively, to add photos later on, simply go to My Rooms and select Edit Photos. All photos must be landscape. Please note that large files may take longer to upload but the quality will be much better. Photos should ideally have a standard 3:4 ratio (like a normal digital photo) and be at least 280x200 pixels in size.
How to activate a Room?
You need to be registered as a Homeowner in order to add and activate a room with Head2Pillow.

Once you are logged in to your account, select the ‘Add a Room’ tab and follow the instructions which will take you through all the steps you need to complete in order to add your room to the Head2Pillow website. Many of the fields are mandatory, as indicated by a red asterisk and you will not be able to activate your room until all of these fields have been completed.

Once all of the ‘Add a Room’ pages have been completed, click on the ‘Finish’ button.

You will then be given the option to activate the room at this time or to do it at a later time.

To do it later, go to the ‘My Rooms’ tab, which will show you which sections have been fully completed, as indicated by a . If a section displays a , then this indicates that some mandatory fields have not been completed within that particular section and you will need to click on that section in order to complete the missing fields.

The sections that are displayed for each room are as follows:

         Edit Location

         Edit Room Details

         Edit Area

         Edit Availability

         Edit Photos

You can Preview your room advert by simply clicking on the ‘Preview’ button which is found in the ‘My Rooms’ tab.

As soon as all sections in the ‘My Rooms’ tab display a , then your room is ready to be activated. To activate you room, simply click on the Activate button which can be found to the right of the page and your room will then be added to the Head2Pillow website and potential Guests will be able to book it.

If at any time you wish to amend the details of your room or deactivate your room, then this can be implemented through the ‘My Rooms’ tab.
How to deactivate a Room?
Go to your ‘My Rooms’ tab:

How do I log in?
Once you have registered, you can return to your Head2Pillow account by clicking on the ‘Log in’ tab in the top right hand corner of the homepage. Then simply enter your User Name and Password and you will then be directed straight to My Account.
Does it cost to be a Homeowner with Head2Pillow?
We do not charge Homeowners to register their spare room(s) with Head2Pillow.com.
We do charge commission of 10% or £5 (whichever is greater) of a Guest’s total booking amount to a Homeowner to cover administration costs.
Do I have to give my banking details?
You are only asked to provide your banking details when you activate your room. These details allow Head2PIillow to transfer money for bookings which Guests have made into your account, less the commission.
Are my details secure?
Yes. We do not share your personal details or your banking details with any third parties.
How much should I charge Guests?
When deciding how much to charge a Guest per night, bear in mind the area of London you live in and the facilities you are offering. If your location has fantastic transport links into Central London and there is a television in the room, these are reasons for you to charge more. But make sure you price your room reasonably and remain competitive.
Do I have to pay tax on my rent?
You do not have to pay tax if you earn £4,250 or less in rent. You will have to pay tax on the amount of rent over £4,250 that you earn. This must be declared on your tax return. See Rent a Room scheme for full details.
Should I keep a record of my receipts?
You should retain all your receipts and invoices for six years after the tax year under consideration.
Can I cancel a booking?
You should try to avoid cancelling a booking unless there are exceptional circumstances. If you do need to cancel a booking, please contact the Guest and Admin at Head2Pillow, the Guest will need to be refunded.
How do I contact a Guest who has made a booking?
At Head2Pillow you can use our quick and easy to use message option to correspond with each guest that comes to stay.
Will my usual household insurance also cover Guests as well?
As each insurance company is different, please contact your insurance company to find out if you need to take out any additional cover in this instance.
Who else should I contact?
You should inform your mortgage company. If your property is leasehold then you should contact the leaseholder.
Is health and safety important?
Yes. It is a criminal offence to provide your guest with unsafe equipment.
